Electroman & Sky Fortress
I'm currently obsessed with Waterflame and listening through all of his songs one by one. So many of them are upbeat and... well, happy! Some make me want to dance, and that's saying a lot. Here's one of the many that I love:
From the video description on Youtube:
From the video description on Youtube:
"this is a Original track, and not a remake or remix for anything!
I made it with a theme in mind, for a fictional hero, 'electroman'
that i made up to go along with the song. so this is the theme to a
main character of a game that does not exist! (unless you want to make it? ;) enjoy!" -- Waterflame
EDIT: Sorry, I just can't help myself! I had to post Sky Fortress as well!
2:35 really reminds me of my little sister. Probably because I was dancing with her when I listened to it... But whatever. Gosh, I can't get over Waterflame's music. I'm addicted! Help!

Ricochet Love
A really epic song by our beloved Waterflame. This song doesn't just float my boat: it makes my boat hover about three feet out of the water; that's how much I like it.
It may sound a bit "beaty" at first, but it gets really good about a minute in... and gets even better at 2:20 and onward. Do yourself a favor and listen!

The Imposible Dream
Haha! This song is from Man of La Mancha, a musical adapted from the tale of Don Quixote. In this song, Don Quixote explains his quest and the reasons behind it.
This version is performed by the prestigious Andre Rieu and the Platin Tenors.
I still can't decide which word describes this song better: epic or hilarious! I'm sure both work fine. ;)
Here are the lyrics for your enjoyment:
To dream ... the impossible dreamAnd I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest,
To fight ... the unbeatable foe
To bear ... with unbearable sorrow
To run ... where the brave dare not go
To right ... the unrightable wrong
To love ... pure and chaste from afar
To try ... when your arms are too weary
To reach ... the unreachable star
This is my quest, to follow that star
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
To fight for the right, without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause
And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,
when I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach ... the unreachable star
That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,
when I'm laid to my rest
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach ... the unreachable star!
The "Last ounce of courage" part always makes my mom laugh. XD

Savage Opress
No Monday Music Challenge today, I'm afraid. Due to a bunch of stuff going on in my life right now, I won't be posting much. In fact, I won't be on the internet much at all. I'll still try to get at least two posts done per week, though. :)
Today we have the theme Kevin Kiner composed for the character Savage Opress: probably one of the biggest, strongest, and toughest villains from the Clone Wars show. The theme really matches Opress' character, especially his hard and fast fighting style.
It was especially epic to hear while Opress and Maul were dueling Obi-Wan Kenobi and Adi Gallia on Florrum:
"We're pirates... we don't even know what that means!"

Shai Linne: The Glory of God, Ft. L.E. and Little Lexa
A very cool song I was introduced to lately. It's a little repetitive, but the lyrics are great and so is the music.
There is another version of this song that you've probably never heard before (dons hipster glasses), but it's certainly worth a listen! ;D (link in case the embed doesn't work)
Professional rappers L.E. and Little Lexa give us their remix.

Andy Mineo VERSES Trip Lee!
Andy Mineo and Trip Lee are two of my favorite Christian Rappers, and the songs below are probably my favorites when it comes to their music. But here on VERSES, there can only be one!
In the Blue corner, with have Andy Mineo with Let there be Light. Probably my favorite song of his. Let's just say Andy Mineo brings a little "white and nerdy" to the world of Christian Rap and Hip-Hop. ;) The lyrics to this song are really good, though.
And in the Red corner, we have Trip Lee with King Like Mine. My favorite song of his (next to Robot). Trip Lee's voice/accent is hilarious, but really fun to listen to. I don't like this song's lyrics as much as I do the music and the message.

Flawless - no he ain't clean like mine
Never has another been seen like mine"

Monday Music Challenge: 8-Bit Music!
I've recently discovered the wonderful world of 8-bit music! 8-Bit music is basically made to sound like old video-game music. That may sound unappealing to some, but TRUST ME. These next few songs are AMAZING. You're not going to want to miss out.
As usual, You will have to find 4 pieces of music relating to this week's theme (8-Bit)... this time, I think that making distinct categories would prevent us from having maximum fun... So, just post your four favorite 8-bit songs!
You will have to rank them from best to worst. Here are mine:
1: Duel of the Fates!
LOVE IT! You just can't beat that right there!
2: Pirates of the Carribean!
Epic! Just epic!
3: Concerning Hobbits:
Cuteness level: Over 9,000.
4: The Avengers theme!
Gotta love it!
5: Bonus Category! I'm just going to put another 8-Bit Star Wars soundtrack in here:
Battle of Heroes. Seriously guys, there was no WAY I could leave this out, it's so good.
Sorry this week's challenge isn't much of a challenge. I admit it: It's just an excuse for me to post all my favorite 8-bit music. But it's also an excuse for you to post yours! What are your favorite 8-bit songs? Post them in the comments! :D

Perfect Storm, Ft. Battle Axe
I've been listening to a LOT of good Christian Rap lately.
This song makes me want to explode! I wouldn't say I've had a hard life, but I have been through some times and situations that might be considered "tough"... and this song really just brings home WHY I had to go through what I went through! WHY He allowed me to suffer! WHY He did it all! He broke me down, but the man He broke down (if a man he could be called) was a horrible, crooked construction of lies and sin. The man He built back up was a new creation, for the purpose of His glory. He continues to refine me, and though the process may be painful, it's all for His Glory. He knows what He's doing, His plan is good, and He will accomplish it. Praise His name.

Hymn History: The Church's One Foundation
“No one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11
I know I always say this, but this is one of my favorite hymns (especially if played on an organ)!
So I read up on it, and its history is very interesting.

On That Cross: I Can't Believe You Died for Me!
Move over, Shai... JK. But wow... Flame has got to be one of my new favorite rappers. This song? It's moving. Extremely powerful. You must read the lyrics:
[HOOK:]
When you were on that cross
I can't believe you died for me
Oh Lord you gave me eyes to see
When I was lost
You showed me which way to go
Oh Lord you even saved my soul
When you were on that cross
[Repeat]
[VERSE:]
Yes, the Lord reigns robed in majesty
The
Mountains melt like wax
Before the Lord cause He's Holy
And it has to be
Nothing but pure reverence
By His wisdom
And understanding He stretched out the heavens
Who can
Endure His presence?
Let us make a joyful noise to the rock
Of our salvation
We praise Him with all that we've got
Even
The seas roar
Let the trees of the forest sing for joy as the
Rivers clap before the Lord
In case you've ever
Wondered
Why was it all done?
What is it for?
My Lord the
Stars moon and sun
Even the skies testify to your
Greatness
Revelation 4:11 praise for all your creation
It's all
For your glory
Through your infinite power
Your intricate
Skill is seen through a blossoming flower
But yet Father you
Were pleased to bruise your own Son
So that sinners could
Come and be redeemed
Amen
[HOOK:]
When you were on that cross
I can't believe you died for me
Oh Lord you gave me eyes to see
When I was lost
You showed me which way to go
Oh Lord you even saved my soul
When you were on that cross
[Repeat]
[VERSE:]
We spend a lifetime looking for satisfaction in
Wrong places
But a blind man embraces whatever catch his
Fall
But if he's spiritually blind and can't see that he's
Falling
Then quite naturally this cat a keep bumping into
Walls
But if a man who was also God offered him sight
Said
He could save him from his behavior and sorry plight
And
Give him eyes to see the beauty of God the creator
Would
He take Him by faith and stop putting up a fight?
Would he
Fall to the ground with his face to the pavement?
Just to
Worship the man who was God making His payment
For the
Sin he was born in that made him blind
And the debt he
Accumulated for loving lying
And bringing peace between
The one in which he has beef
And sins against every week
When he's hugging the streets
And bring him close by the
Power of the Holy Ghost
The same God who crushed His
Son 2000 years ago
[HOOK:]
When you were on that cross
I can't believe you died for me
Oh Lord you gave me eyes to see
When I was lost
You showed me which way to go
Oh Lord you even saved my soul
When you were on that cross
[Repeat]
[VERSE:]
Listen...
Every step Jesus took on the way to
Golgotha
Echoed throughout the universe - for you
Father
For the glory of God is of infinite worth
And his
Death'll justify many and bring new birth
And every blow to
His hands every thrust to his side
Every heave on the cross
Is for the glory of God
And now the murderer the prostitute
And even the thug
And average person can now be
Cleansed by blood?
[HOOK:]
When you were on that cross
I can't believe you died for me
Oh Lord you gave me eyes to see
When I was lost
You showed me which way to go
Oh Lord you even saved my soul
When you were on that cross
[Repeat]

Music Request: I See Fire + My Dear Frodo
Today we have 2 music requests from Tabby Hollowell.
I LOVE the music for I See Fire, but HATE the voices. I'm sorry. But what irks me the most about it is the third and fourth lines of the song:
Very nice. I like it. Especially the ending, with the Thorin-esque theme. I love that theme.
EDIT: I found a longer version of this track on youtube. It's much better in my opinion, especially since it has the Shire theme in it:

"And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons"
Does that bug anyone else? Am I the only one? They should've said "Durin's FOLK" and they could've at least made the lyrics rhyme! But nooooo...
Come on, seriously. Put a little effort into these things, people.
Okay, so onto My Dear Frodo...

Monday Music Challenge: Star Wars!
Those of you that don't live under a rock know that yesterday was "Star Wars day" (May the fourth be with you)!
In honor of that, and since today is technically "Revenge of the Fifth," and since I am a huge Star Wars fan, this week's challenge is Star Wars-themed!
As usual, there are four categories. You must find a piece of music for each category, and submit your picks in the comments or on your own blog (just remember to link back here!)
Even if you've never seen Star Wars (uncultured potato! JK), you would do well (extremely well) to listen to some of the music. Honestly, you have no idea what you've missing out on. Forget Pirates of the Caribbean; this is the good stuff!
Without further ado, here are the categories:
1: Favorite battle music
2: Favorite Lightsaber Duel music
3: Favorite character's/location's/faction's theme
4: Favorite overall piece of music
5: Bonus category! Again, you can post whatever piece of music you want, just as long as it's related to this week's theme. My suggestions: Favorite Star Wars music video, favorite Clone Wars soundtrack, overall least favorite Star Wars music, or favorite romantic theme (even though there are only like, 2 or 3 to choose from).
Here are my picks!
1: Favorite battle music: Each large-scale battle scene from Star Wars had a unique soundtrack; from Yavin, to Hoth, to Endor (just to name a few from the Original Trilogy). It was a tough choice, but I'm going to have to pick the Battle of Naboo. I'm really disappointed that the best version on youtube is 18 minutes long and has such a ridiculous thumbnail. I doubt any of my readers are brave enough to play it (please prove me wrong!).
2: Favorite Lightsaber Duel music: Duel of the fates is what most people would pick. But personally, I think the theme for Anakin and Obi-Wan's duel on Mustafar was much more dramatic. I'mma have to go with that. Like, seriously: this is probably some of my favorite music from the entire saga. Gives me chills.
3: Favorite character's/location's/faction's theme:
Every single planet, person, and army had it's own theme. Star Wars was revolutionary that way, and John Williams (may he live forever) was the first composer to do this for a movie, much less a movie series. Now, there was a lot to chose from, with the Imperial march and the Droid Army theme being way up there with Darth Vader and Luke's theme, but... In the end, I had to go with General Grievous' theme. It's just so... epic! Sinister! Combative! I know the video is a long one, but t least listen to the first five minutes worth.
4: Favorite Overall piece of music:
Oh gosh. The main theme, of course! One of the most recognizable soundtracks in history, and one of the only soundtracks that is instantly recognizable from the first note!
5: Bonus Category: The award ceremony music! Why? Because it will play at my wedding, of course! ;D
JK. I can only hope.
This has, for me at least, been the hardest challenge yet! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Bach: Sleepers Wake
This piece fills me with a contented bliss. I would love to wake up to this every morning, refreshed and ready to do the will of my Father.
