Rohan VERSES Gondor

Haven't had one of these in a while. :D

Today we have to awesome themes from the LotR movies, and it's up to you to decide which one is better!

Here's Rohan, with those epic violins:

And here's Gondor, with equally epic horns:

Which theme do you like better? Tell us in the comments!

Music Request: I See Fire + My Dear Frodo

Today we have 2 music requests from Tabby Hollowell.

I LOVE the music for I See Fire, but HATE the voices. I'm sorry. But what irks me the most about it is the third and fourth lines of the song:
"And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons"
Does that bug anyone else? Am I the only one? They should've said "Durin's FOLK" and they could've at least made the lyrics rhyme! But nooooo...
Come on, seriously. Put a little effort into these things, people.

Okay, so onto My Dear Frodo...

Very nice. I like it. Especially the ending, with the Thorin-esque theme. I love that theme.

EDIT: I found a longer version of this track on youtube. It's much better in my opinion, especially since it has the Shire theme in it:

So what did you think of today's music requests? Have a request of your own? Simply place it in the contact form on the right sidebar, and send it to me! Or, if that's too complicated for you, Leave a comment! :)

Music Request: Gollum's Song

"Tabombur" has requested "Gollum's Song"
I had forgotten about this song. The context, I'm told, is Gollum and his sad life. So to me, this song is really sad. Whoever arranged this video did a really good job.

At least it's not an annoying song for once...

Music Request: Misty Mountains by Dwarf cast and Richard Armitage

Cassie Kwant used the music suggestion form to request this song: Misty Mountains, as performed by the Dwarf cast of The Hobbit and Richard Armitage.

The last music request was for the Song of the Lonely Mountain sung by Neil Finn, and as you remember, I specifically said:
"To be honest, I prefer the version of this song that is sung by Thorin and company."
So I find it pleasing, yet oddly convenient, that this was the next song to be requested. Coincidence? I think not!

What do you think?

Lord of the Rings Dubstep Remix

A friend showed this to me, and I thought it was pretty cool. Definitely worth sharing.

I like Lord of the Rings Music, and I like Dubstep remixes of my favorite music, so naturally, I liked this. What about you?

Gondor Theme

Like the Rohan theme I posted yesterday, the Gondor theme is extremely epic. It has a feeling of nobility and honor to it, and you get the sense that said honor and nobility is very long-standing. Like the Rohan theme, this sounded really awesome while driving through the snow-capped mountains of Montana and Idaho.

My favorite part is about 3:12 and onward, which is the same music that plays while the warning beacons are being lit from Gondor to Rohan, and we're given sweeping shots of mountain grandeur. What's your favorite part?

Rohan Theme

My dad and I really enjoy the Rohan theme that was composed for the Lord of the Rings movies. Vikings were one of my favorite subjects as a kid, so I've always felt partial to the Rohirrim for their viking-esque culture (I don't mind that it substitutes longboats with horses).

But the music... Oh, the music is just gorgeous! Love those strings! I listened to this while we were driving through the mountains in Montana and Idaho, and let me just say, the music matched the scenery in grandeur (or at least, complimented it).
